Women face so many challenges and go through various phases in life, all while wearing different hats and making the things in their spheres go. We can be strong yet fragile, confident yet insecure, encouraging yet discouraged, and I have embraced all those parts of me and then some.
Being a wife has taught me how to find my own voice while supporting my husband's vision. In marriage, it can be easy to get lost in the relationship, but you don't have to. You can be a great wife while progressing in life as a woman who knows her worth and the value she brings.
As a mother, I've chosen to be intentional about parenting, loving , and challenging my children to grow. Two interesting things I learned about motherhood is that it's about teaching and learning all at the same time. As I'm teaching my sons, I'm learning tons of things about them, as well as lots of things about myself, too.
Leading any group comes with its challenges and being a nonprofit executive comes with a special set of them. I try to lead in humility, with compassion, in strength, with transparency, and in love. My faith informs how I work, lead and learn.
My faith is the foundation for how I live. I use it to inform how I engage as a wife and mother, a daughter and sister, a mentor and friend, and a woman who works.
It's my mission to spread hope in all facets of my life beginning behind the doors of my home and seeping into every other area, from social media activity to my conversations with amazing women. I believe that women like me have amazing stories to share and scars to show that can change the lives of other women who are just looking for hope.
I see myself as a bridge between many different things: Christian and non-Christian; wife and single woman; business owner and employee, minority and majority, this and that and all the rest.
Mentorship has been very important in my life and I have chosen to spend time mentoring my own kids, youth, moms, wives, and other amazing women.
Graphic design is something I've always enjoyed doing for years. My father and sister are amazing artists and they are great at drawing by hand, but not me. I found out that my creative abilities worked much better behind a computer screen.
Over the years, I have been led into the world of content creation. I've created content for mentoring programs, couples' retreats, marriage resources, podcasts, social media and more. I am also the author of Suitable Help: Be the Help He Needs, a book I self-published in 2013.
